Facelift for New World Warkworth

Foodstuffs (Auckland) Limited is pleased to announce plans for a significant facelift of its New World store at Warkworth.

"The New World in Warkworth is a valued and recognised feature of the Warkworth town centre and we want to invest in our store to continue that relationship with the town and the local community," says Foodstuffs (Auckland) General Manager - Property Strategy Angela Bull.

"The Council has recently set out its strategy for the design of the town centre and we have given a lot of thought to design features for the store to reflect that strategy, including a significant amount of glazing and panels complete with a kowhai motif to reflect the local community feel.  The result will be a high quality, modern New World with a more contemporary design."

The resource consent application for the New World facelift has been lodged with the Rodney District Council this week.

Ms Bull says as part of the work on the New World facelift, the company has also carefully reviewed the recent Council plan change decisions on the Warkworth town centre.

"The plan changes specifically recognise the New World as a permitted activity within Warkworth.  On the advice of our experts we have appealed some aspects of the Council's plan changes to clarify and correct some provisions that relate primarily to our site."

All Foodstuffs stores are 100% New Zealand-owned and operated. Foodstuffs brands include PAK'nSAVE, New World, Four Square, Gilmours, Duffy & Finn's and Liquorland.
