West Auckland's newest and much anticipated supermarket, New
World New Lynn, will be officially opened by Deputy Mayor of
Waitakere City, Penny Hulse, at 8:15am on Tuesday 29 September,
2009.
The new store, which is situated in the heart of New Lynn has
created 170 new jobs and is a welcome addition to the
community.
"Up until now there has been a lack of supermarkets in New Lynn,
so we are delighted to bring competition and a great fresh and
grocery offer to the area. The New World will provide the
people of New Lynn with an excellent supermarket option in their
local community," says Angela Bull, Foodstuffs (Auckland) General
Manager, Property Strategy.
New owner Lance Gerlach, says "I'm really looking forward to
opening New World New Lynn and giving people in the community a
wider variety of supermarket goods and an excellent shopping
experience without having to travel far from their doorstep".
"The new store looks fantastic and we are delighted to bring so
many jobs to the local area," he adds. The 3,210 square metre store
is located on the corner of Clark Street and Crown Lynn Place
opposite the old cinema complex.
Lance was formerly the owner of New World Green Bay, which is
now in the very capable hands of new owner-operator Todd
Leathem.
Foodstuffs is a 100 per cent New Zealand-owned company and all
of its stores are locally owned and operated.
