Foodstuffs (Auckland) Limited, a 100% New Zealand owned and
operated company, has announced that it has all the planning
permissions for the new New World located on Bridge Street and is
ready to go.
"New World has been in the heart of the Tokoroa community for
almost 40 years and we are delighted to confirm our ongoing
commitment to the heart of the town." says Foodstuffs (Auckland)
General Manager - Property Strategy Angela Bull. "We
announced our plans to build a new New World in the middle of last
year and we have been working with the locals and the Council to
get a great result for the community. The Council has now
granted us all the necessary planning permissions for the new store
so we are ready to go. We are already underway working on the
timing and details for construction of the new New World
store."
Ivan Gray, owner operator of the current New World, says the
news is exciting for the local businesses and residents of Tokoroa,
who will benefit from the employment opportunities and the new
supermarket offer. "It's great to know that the community,
which has been so supportive of me and the store, will get to enjoy
a new modern supermarket with a full offer. I'm delighted for
the people of Tokoroa and the local businesses."
The new store will start construction this year and will be
located next to the existing New World, which will continue to
trade throughout construction of the new store. Foodstuffs
will continue to keep the local businesses and community up to date
with progress of the new store, which is a modern and innovative
design. The attached picture shows an illustration of the
store's entry on the main street of Tokoroa.
All Foodstuffs stores are 100% New Zealand-owned and operated.
