Supporting strong communities
We serve more than 4 million customers each week through 326 locally owned stores across the North Island. Because our store owners live in the communities they serve, they understand what matters to local people and families.
Every day, our stores support local schools, clubs, charities and community groups through donations, sponsorships and grassroots initiatives that make a difference close to home.
Through the Foodstuffs North Island HereforNZ Fund, we also help community and food support organisations support families doing it tough and strengthen resilience when communities need it most.

On the ground
Our stores are proud to contribute to communities throughout New Zealand and run initiatives, like the Four Square Community Heroes Awards.

Social Supermarkets
Social Supermarkets aim to create a dignified experience for whanau experiencing food security challenges, by offering food and grocery products at a low or no cost, using a points system, in a standard supermarket environment.
Addressing food poverty
We believe that everyone in New Zealand should have access to healthy and affordable food.

Food for Thought
Since 2007, we've supported Food for Thought, a free nutritional education programme that's delivered in schools.
